Car Insurance Sterling (Car Insurance). why is the concept camaro so much better looking?

why is the concept camaro so much better looking? If you look at the concept camaro and the new production camaros you will se major changes they did the concept camaro in the transformers movie looks alot better more arrow dynamic and the door angles on the concept camaro are at a diffrent angle athan the production camaro and the production camaro got shortend and the raised the hood and if you look at the side of the concept camaro and the production camaro, the concept looks way better why did they make the changes so extreme it almost looks like a diffrent car.

because . . making a concept vehicle, and actually stuffing everything in there so it works and is comfortable at an affordable price are two different things , , ,it's always been that way . . there are concept cars . . then there are production cars GM is still smarting about concept-straight-to-showroom-cars after the Aztek debacle. Only Dodge can (somewhat) get away with Hot Wheels designs. Concept cars are usually handmade and cost thousands upon thousands (or more) of dollars to make. Creativity is used to draw interest in the car for when it goes into production. When it finally goes into production, the beancounters unfortunately get into the act and the car is sometimes modified to fit into the carmaker's budget. This may mean eliminating costly exotic sheetmetal bending, trim, wheels or other styling that made the concept car unique. All for the sake of budget parameters. I haven't seen the concept camaros but the production ones are so butt ugly I believe you.

Sterling . How to Disassemble a Turbocharger

The turbocharger is a component of the air system of a vehicle or machine. The turbocharger is bolted to the exhaust manifold of the naturally aspirated engine. The turbocharger uses engine exhaust to spin its turbine wheel, which in turn draws in fresh air through the intake side of the turbine. The fresh air is sent to the cylinders. The air is then mixed with fuel during the intake cycle of the engine. Turbocharger failures may occur during the lifetime of the engine. Disassembling a turbocharger for repair or maintenance may be necessary to extend engine life and retain engine horsepower.
Difficulty:Moderately Challenging
Instructions Things You'll Need
Wrenches
Ratchets and sockets
Ball-peen hammer
Flathead screwdriver
Shop towels
Plastic sheeting
Paint marker
Penetrating lubricantSuggest EditsItem AddWhy is it necessary?Done

Step by Step :
1
Remove the bolts from the compressor housing of the turbocharger using a ratchet wrench with a socket that fits the bolt head. The compressor housing is the housing which does not have the exhaust tail present. Set the bolts to the side. Remove the four bolts that are under the compressor housing with a ratchet and socket. Pull the compressor housing free from the turbocharger.
2
Remove the bolts from the turbine housing with a ratchet wrench and socket, leaving two bolts still fastened at the top and bottom of the housing. Set the removed bolts to the side. Begin to remove the top and bottom bolts, alternating between each using 1/4-inch turns. Continue until the bolts are removed. Slide the turbine housing from the turbocharger.
3
Mark both the turbine and compressor wheels using a paint marker with a line leading from the wheel to the center section. This will allow you to realign the wheels during assembly.
4
Remove the compressor wheel nut with a 7/16-inch socket. Pull the compressor wheel free of the center section. Remove the turbine wheel and shaft by gently tapping on the turbine shaft with a hammer until they are free of the center housing.
5
Remove the compressor plate by loosening the two bolts that hold it in place. Set the bolts to the side.
6
Remove the snap rings that are holding the turbine bearings in place with a small flathead screwdriver. After the snap rings are removed the bearings should slide free from the shaft. If the bearings are tight and will not dislodge from the shaft, use a penetrating lubricant on the shaft to help slide the bearings free.
7
Spray bearings with lubricant to prevent rusting and to loosen carbon. Cover the turbocharger housings and wheels with a plastic sheet or shop towel to stop exposure to dust and dirt.
Tips & Warnings
Turbocharger bolt sizes vary by engine manufacturer. A complete set of metric and standard sockets would be ideal for turbocharger removal.

Sterling . How to Port Small Block Chevrolet Cylinder Heads

A Chevrolet small block engine is a big air pump. Fuel/air mixture is drawn through the intake manifold past the intake valves, burned by a spark from the spark plug then pushed out through the exhaust manifold. Porting an engine means smoothing the areas around the intake and exhaust valves so that air flows smoothly around the valves. According to the mechanics at Chevy High-Performance Magazine, porting can often return better results than using larger valves. Since porting is much less expensive than a new cylinder head with larger valves, it's a good first step.
Difficulty:Moderately Challenging
Instructions Things You'll Need
Cylinder head
Shop manual
Rotary grinder
Polishing kit
Carbide cutter
Electric drill

Step by Step :
1
Secure the cylinder head in a vise or other clamping device. Examine the narrow channel just above the valve. It's the least efficient part of the channel because the air flow is often disrupted by ridges and improper casting.
2
Use the rotary grinder and the carbide cutter to remove metal from inside the channel for a half inch above the valve seat. The goal is to make the channel look like the bell of a trumpet, a very smooth and gradual widening of the channel. You will do this free-hand. The carbide cutter removes a lot of metal with very little force so move gently. Secure the cylinder head so you're pressing the grinder down on the metal. Do one half of the grinding then turn the cylinder head over.
3
Use the cylinder shaped polishing rolls mounted on the electric drill to polish the areas you worked on.
4
Wipe down all of the areas that were ground with clean cloth to remove any metal debris.
Tips & Warnings
Wear a dust mask, ear protection and eye protection. Make sure the cylinder head is firmly held in the vise.

When your engine heats up, the pressure in its system rises. If this pressure exceeds the level of pressure that your radiator cap is built to withstand and you don't have a recovery system, the liquid in the system bypasses the radiator cap and escapes through an overflow pipe located near the fill hole. This pipe provides a safe way for your vehicle to "let off steam." Of course, if this kind of overflow occurs often, your car loses enough water and coolant to substantially lower the level in the cooling system. You have to keep adding water, and eventually, the level of coolant protection is inadequate. To prevent this problem, you can buy and install a coolant recovery kit yourself by following the instructions in "Using a coolant recovery system" in Chapter 14. Pressure caps are relatively inexpensive, but if you have a cap that isn't working properly, or if you have the wrong type of cap, you'll be amazed at the amount of trouble it can cause. For example, if the gasket (rubber ring) inside the cap isn't working, the pressure in the system will escape, allowing the liquid to boil at a lower temperature. A modern cooling system that's been designed to operate normally at temperatures over 212 degrees Fahrenheit, and that is filled with liquid and in perfect condition, will still continually boil over if the radiator cap isn't operating efficiently. That boiling liquid will be forced into the overflow system, and your vehicle's engine will overheat. This can cause an inconvenient highway breakdown and possible danger to your engine. If your vehicle overheats on the highway, Chapter 21 can get you cooled down safely. The section "If Your Car Is a Chronic Hothead" in Chapter 14 offers remedies for other overheating problems. Although most vehicles come equipped with a safety pressure cap, which features a little lever that releases the pressure before you remove the cap, some older vehicles have a cap that lacks this feature. If you have one of these caps, replace it with a safety pressure cap immediately. Doing so can keep you from burning yourself if you have to remove the cap while there's still some pressure in the system. Part II: What Makes It Go? 764 The Fan Air rushing through the radiator cools things off when you are driving merrily down the freeway, but a fresh supply of air won't be moving through the radia tor fins when the vehicle is standing still or crawling its way through heavy 395 Car Insurance 1997 gmc 3500 regular cab chassis 285738

traffic. For this purpose, a fan is located behind the radiator, positioned so that it can draw air through the radiator (refer to Figure 8-1). Today, most fans have a plastic shroud that funnels air through the radiator. And some sports cars have air dams that help force the air up through the radiator from below. Originally, a fan belt drove the fan as long as the engine was running. Now, fan clutches on many vehicles automatically limit the fan's movement at speeds over 25 mph. Because the air rushing past them allows these fans to simply "coast" at high speeds, the engine doesn't have to work as hard or burn as much fuel to supply the power that the fans would normally con sume. Most cars with transverse engines have electric fans, some of which

continue to run for a short while after the engine is shut off. Chapter 14 has instructions for adjusting and replacing fan belts and other accessory belts. The Water Pump The water pump (see Figures 8-1 and 8-3) draws the liquid from the radiator through the bottom radiator hose and sends it to the engine, where it circulates through water jackets located around the combustion chambers in the cylinders and other hot spots. An accessory belt drives some water pumps, while some overhead cam engines drive the water pump with the timing belt. If the timing belt drives your water pump, the water pump will be difficult to see unless you remove the plastic timing belt cover. engine quickly. Here's how — and why — it does this: The thermostat is a small, metal, heat-sensitive valve (see Figure 8-4) that's usually located where the upper radiator hose meets the top of the engine. (On a few vehicles, you find the thermostat where the bottom hose joins the engine. Your owner's manual should tell you where yours is.) When it senses hot liquid, the thermostat allows the liquid to pass through. But when the thermostat senses that the liquid is cold (like when you first start your car in the morning), it shuts and doesn't allow the liquid to circulate through the radiator (refer to Figure 8-1). As a result, the liquid stays in the engine, where it gets hot as the engine warms up, and in turn, the increasing heat of the liquid helps the engine to warm up more quickly. As a result, the vehicle runs more efficiently and burns less fuel. Figure 8-4: A thermostat. The Heater Core The heater core is located inside the vehicle between the instrument panel and the firewall. It looks like a miniature radiator minus the fill neck and cap. The purpose of the heater core is to provide heat for the passenger compart ment. The same liquid that the water pump circulates throughout the engine

also circulates through the heater core when the engine is operating. When you get chilly, you can direct air across the heater core and heat the interior of your vehicle by turning on the inside fan. Because the heater core is rela tively "passive," it usually doesn't need attention (unless it breaks). 166 Part II: What Makes It Go? That's all you need to know about the parts involved in the cooling system and how they work. Of course, some vehicles have more complicated systems, or variations on the theme, such as two fans run by electric thermostats that aren't connected to the water pump at all. These go on independently and draw air in to cool the engine when necessary. But in general, if you understand the way the basic cooling system works, you should have little trouble handling the one in your vehicle. Chapter 14 provides instructions for troubleshooting, maintaining, and making simple repairs. Air Conditioning Air conditioning is fast becoming standard equipment, rather than an option, on most vehicles. It uses refrigerant to remove the heat from the air (rather than cooling it) and a blower to send the cool air into the passenger compartment.
